My buddy and I showed up to SMHD on thurs. May 29 about 1230pm to demo ride some xb12's. The sales guy we got was really cool (Brian Gies). I got to ride a 12r and my buddy rode a 12s. We were only their 10 mins. before we were starting the bikes. After a 6-7 mile ride we were back at the dealership shootin the with the salesman. We were getting ready to leave and my friend made a passing comment"you don't by chance demo ride v-rods?". Next thing I know I'm on a v-rod with 6 miles on it rollin down the highway. Didn't get to feel the nuts because I just couldn't do that to a new bike but the other one had 300 miles on it and I got smoked several times. I can't say enough about the dealership on the sales side. These guys were totally cool. We got our sling bags and left. We thought to ourselves, "that was a good stop". Didn't seem like the 12 had any balls, wouldn't lift the front tire off the ground with just throttle. My 9s pulls it up at 2200 rpm. The 12 felt like a real dog, always seemed to have to keep the rpm's higher than on the 9 to keep the same power. Granted it is a demo bike, but I wasn't to impressed.
