OK, I know a lot of folks (myself included) take the passenger pegs and mounts off their bikes. Problem is, that eliminates any bodywork protection you might have for the tail.

I'm working on an idea for a slider. It would mount to the 2 peg bracket mount holes on the tail section, and mount a slider - either delrin, or aluminum, but a standard replaceable slider - tight enough to the bodywork to not look awful, but still give protection to the tail section.

This would work on XB-R, XB-S, and 1125 bikes.

Post here if you'd be interested. Right now, just an informal poll to see if interest warrants programming/development.

What are you thinking for a price? If it's not too expensive, I'm interested.

Gotta figure out how many will be needed, what to make 'em out of, etc....but gonna try to keep it as inexpensive as possible while having it be more than just cosmetic (i.e. actually useful!).

Joe, I might be in for a couple sets, depending on how expensive they end up being and how they look.

Hell yes! Maybe some tail sliders would've saved my leg... I'm most interested in some, no matter the cost.

Someone already did this.Search n you'll find it. I think they used skateboard wheels though.

Tattoo72 is the originator of this. He machined his own delrin bits and mounted them to some angle aluminum.

I have since copied using replacement delrin sliders for some ujm. Total cost $25. Including aluminum, bolts, sliders, and spray paint. If I had to do it again, I'd have put the sliders aft of the 2 bolts entirely. That's my only advice.

Anyone got any pics? I want to remove the rear pegs but it seams they provide some protection in case of a tip over. This is the only reason they are still on.

I'd be interested. I'd love to see simply an aluminum (or powdercoated steel) bracket, that we can just bolt skateboard wheels to.

Then they'd match my axle sliders!

I hate to pay extra for Delrin or Aluminum, when ultra cheap solid black skateboard wheels work just as well.

Tattoo72 did with the angle aluminum.

BUT unlike his

I'd be very interested, especially if there was a bar that ties both sides together..

My concern with just a single side is it could flex in and break the frame rails which sometimes happens on lightnings with passenger brackets & pegs..

I would need to see it installed. I think a bar across where the pegs are located would look weird.
