I have a 2004 xb12s that has been surging around 2500 to 3000 rpm. On June 28th I dropped the bike off at Barbs Harley-Davidson/Buell in Camden County New Jersey. The service is first come first served. They told me the turn around time is an average of 3 days, as long as you do not need a part that they do not have. They didn't look at my bike until July 3rd, five days later. They said I needed a throttle body and they would not be able to order it until monday the 6th. They asked If I wanted to overnight the part and I said yes. They said the part would be there tuesday the 7th and the bike would be done on the 8th. I called on wednesday the 8th and the bike was not done because they forgot to overnight the part. The part arrived yesterday the 10th and they said they would do their best to get it done before they closed. I never got a call so I called them today at 2:00pm and they said the part was boxed wrong. Now they are going to order the part again this Monday and hopefully they will overnight it this time. They say the bike will be done on Wednesday 15th. That will be 17 days in the shop. Is this typical service that I should expect at a Harley/Buell dealer? |

Not typical from the dealer I've been using. Folsom HD has been great the few times I've needed warranty work done. Two weeks for a throttle body sucks, but it sounds like they made one mistake in forgetting to order it the first time. Having it boxed wrong wasn't their fault. |

Out of three dealers in austin, the only ones that give their work, word, and respect to buells is the south location an hour and a half away, compared to a 10min and 30min reach.. the extra drive is worth the service.. there are good ones and there are bad ones, happy hunting whats included in the throttle body replacement? sounds like the throttle position sensor rather than the butterfly valve, throttle body, and whatknot.... pull out!!! This is the reason I wish Buell had its own dealership! What I suspect is happening is that mechanics cater to Harley bikes first with Buell being left as a second priority! I hope they get you back on the road real quick. I would make sure everything they touched is back on right as from the looks of that dealership, they just don't give a damn. Good luck amigo! |

I've seen great service (Gover's H-D/ Buell) and really sorry shops too. I make sure I go to the good ones, tell them THEIR GREAT!! and stay away from the sorry ones. (plus let everyone know why! As far as looking after H-D riders first...never happens. Unless you count the time I rode 75 miles in the rain at 40 degs for and appointment only to have the service writer tell me they had to bump me as the had a scratched fender on a Fatboy they had to deal with! I told him that he'd have a Fatboy where the sun don't shine if they didn't fix my bike NOW! The way I see it is if I help to get rid on the sorry dealers MAYBE the one's that are lefy will be the good guys and WILL look after us. |

My dealer had my Bike for 19 days during replacement of my rear cylinder. Told them between my payment and insurance my bike costs me about 10 dollars a day so they gave me a 200 dollar gift card. Won't help your problem I know but it was nice. |

Barb's is central Jersey right? Seems like a big place, maybe too big?(lots of brands and used bikes) I need to have my headlight recall done and I think I am going to try Liberty in Rahway, they are a sponsor on here. |

Augustus74, Barb's is in Camden County, about 5 minutes from Philly over the Walt Whitman bridge. Barb's was supposed to order the part today and overnight it. I will call them tomorrow to see that they got it. |
