To start, I have a 06 xb12r Firebolt. As many who have these bikes have had the head lamp problem. As well as I have. Ive read on here that many of you have had recieved leters in the mail about this issue. I have never recieved one. So i went to my local Harley/Buell dealer to have my vin checked. According to the dealer my bike just fell short of the service notice and my 2006 bike is not covered.
My light looks as bad as all the other pics I have seen on here with the issue.
The service advisor gave me the cust service number and said if i can get them to good will it and provide a claim number that they will gladly do it for me.
After a short phone call to harley cust service. and a check of my vehicle build date. they approved my bike to have the low beam replaced at no charge. with the reasoning that they didnt like the fact that my night vision was being affected.
My bike is currently at Devil Mountain Harley in Pittsburg Ca receving a free replacemnt Lowbeam even though my bike was not included in the 03-06 batch.
Point of this post is if anyone was denied a low beam and is still needing one. give customer service a call and who knows they may still hook it up.

Good to hear you are being taken care of. Worst came to worse, its not hard to or expensive to replace a defective reflector.

Your right. Its very easy. But for a 10 min phone call I was able to get it done for free, and still provide my local dealer with some warranty work. So in the long run we all won.

Just the low beam? I got to look at the kit for my 05 before they ever installed it. It had 2 lights in it.

When i got my bike back they did replace both high and low beam. The cust rep sid just the low. He may not have known that the kit has both? either way, its nice to see again at night.

hum... i was expecting a different outcome, good for you... i was about to say that maybe you should take apart the light assembly and give it a scrub. when i had my bike apart i noticed that the glass lenses were dirty on the indside

Is there a place to look up my vin to see if my bike had the recall done?

Owner's section of Buell.com I believe can answer that for you Augustus.

You can also call a local dealer or Buell customer service.
