I just hit 2,509 miles on my XB12S; how close do I have to stay to the 2,500 mark to not void the warranty? I was planning on getting the Drummer set up around the same time, but judging from what Chosa's charges for the service I could be looking at close to $800 bucks.

Warranties are a somewhat to very subjective business dependent on large part your dealership. There is no absolute set mileage beyond what is written. If you do the 2500 mile service at 2400 miles do you then void a warranty if you do the 5000 mile service at 5000 miles instead of 4,900 miles?

General rule of thumb, +/- 100 miles give or take a thousand depending on other service performed along the way.

YMMV.

coyote

If you look real close the service intervals have changed to every 5k. so your fine. ofcourse I am old school and the oil gets changed every 3k no matter what.

you know you can do that yourself if you want and just have that documented at the dealership if they are cool about that.

Coyote, you do not have to have a dealer do the service to keep your warranty intact. Just keep any & all receipts & log the date & mileage on them.
