Hi, found an 06 xb12r with 7000 miles, but bike has been wrecked and has salvage title. Seller wants 3500 for bike. Bike needs windshield, peg, one handlebar, and some scratches. What do you guys think about this situation? Thanks

Did it have a salvage title before this mishap? This amount of damage doesn't seem like enough to total it out.

I'm with Jbird. Sounds like he's halfway fixed some of it. If possible, I'd ride it to check the steering, tracking, etc. Seems a little steep. For $2000 more, I got my '06 XB12S w/4,000 miles in like new condition.

For 3500.00 you can get an unwrecked 03-04.

I'm not as knowledagable as some of the vets but I wouldn't do it. My dad said to never buy anything with salvage title unless you plan on tearing it down.

I agree with skipping the 06 and buying a "proven bike". I paid a good bit less than that for my 03 xb9r.

Salvage titles all depend on the insurance company and how quickly they are to pre-maturely total something. I got my '03 Dodge Ram Hemi 4x4 was totalled for damaged key switch and stripped body - Awesome deal for me. So it all depends.
