If and ONLY IF your dealer backs you up. If you put on an aftermarket set of headers and the dealer wants to get out of it, they can say that it was YOUR wrenching that busted the stud.

If your dealer works WITH you, no problem. If your dealer is pissed off because you didn't buy a chrome barge and buttless chaps and leather bar-end tassels then you might have issues.

find the torque spec, this way if you have after market muffler or headers and they ask, you tell them the specs that you tightned everything to. if you have the factory header, shouldn't be an issue at all

The last person to wrench on the headers WAS the dealer.
I went to pick up my bar ends and on the way one of the header bolts backed off and it was sounding all weird n hollow they retightened it and within a week it had snapped off
Oh and their stock headers
and i ALWAYS buy my assless chaps from a dealer : p

They SHOULD cover the stud repair under warranty... but be braced for a long time in the shop. They MIGHT even have to order a head (though you or I would just drill it out and heli-coil a new one)

At least this is the beginning of the Winter "maintenance season" so being without your bike for a while isn't as painful as when the weather is perfect for riding.
