I've got a tuber bike right now, and after riding my friend's XB9R, I must say that it just feels a little too jockey-ish. Can anyone tell me if that lightning is any different? I want to buy a lightning after my tuber, but I'm just not sure if the riding position will be the same. I like having my feet relaxed and not thrown back by the rear wheel. Any advice?

I ride a 9r and have demoed a 9s before. The riding position on the S put me more upright than the R does. The R doesn't bother me much because I'm short but the S was very comfortable.

One of the reasons I bought a TT. If you are looking at a 9, the CityCross could be your answer.

S is MUCH more upright. I come from sport bikes, and the R was more laid out than my Triumph. My Lightning is the most upright bike I've ever owned! Much different riding position, and even tho it doesn't look like it would be, it's much more comfortable for a passenger too.

Yea, there's a big difference.
Also you have more handle bar options without having to modify or swap the top triple.

Lower pegs on the R helps the comfort a lot. I'm still working on a solution for the wrist thing.

the only thing I don't like about my S is riding at 75 on the freeway for long distances. Kinda turbulent.

Heli upper triple tree and S pegs go about 70% of the way to making the R as "rideable" as the S, but the seating position is still an issue -- changing to the S tail would fix this though.

Can't go wrong with a Hero CityX though!
