Does anyone make an RSS that is made of plastic so that it resembles the scoop on the left?

This obviously isn't what your asking for but they are pretty cool looking. This price is for the set. (L&R)

All the one's I've seen are made from fiber glass or carbon fiber.

Those dual low profile scoops DO look cool; but my own experience indicates, they don't cool any better than the stock setup.

True...just attaching a box fan to an articulating arm should fix that.

There's a guy in Holland, I think, who makes a right side scoop out of the same material. I'm too lazy, er busy to search right now...

Pricey, but it's the best one out there.

I don't think a plastic RSS would hold up to the exhaust heat very well. My glass one nearly burst into flames with the factory fuel mapping.

My RSS has made my '05 XB12Scg run CONSIDERABLY cooler...fan r-a-r-e-l-y comes on now, and then only for 15-20 seconds....the scoop balances out the look of the bike from a frontal view.. Money well spent in my opinion, even though it IS a bit pricey!!

Oh yes they do : ) There are a few people on here who can testify to that.

Weeeell. I hate to admit it, but I formed my own out a piece of thin metal and painted it black... looks pretty good. All it cost was less than $10. I took it off yesterday becasue it was starting to "rip" at the top mounting bolt.... and guess what. that darn fan came on today in traffic. It has not done that since I installed the homemade RSS

You know some nicely formed stock-ish looking aluminum RSS and LSS powder coated to match the wheels would be a nice addition to my bike. Anything would look better than that stock RSS, neh?

Plus you might save big on not buying those expensive carbon or fiberglass pieces.. I am going to try some thicker metal (aluminum was a great suggestion)...

no problem -- that will be $00.00007 for my services.

Sweet, post some pics when you get something mocked up -- I would be interested in some. Honestly, I like the way my R looks but I keep getting this strange arse urge to have metal bodywork instead of plastic. No, just don't want carbon (strange but true). Funny what happens when you get old.
