I've been wanting to set up the chin fairing with Dzus fasteners to make oil changes easier and for that "cool race look" Has anyone else done this? Do you have any advise in doing so? Would these be a permanent solution? |

Look into cam-loc fasteners. They are made for the aircraft industry and avail in stainless steel. The are a bit pricey but worth the money. We use them on our full fairing kits. They will work on the chin fairing as well. Pete |

If anyone has done this or has any more info please let us know. Every time I take off my air box cover I have a problem not cross threading screws into alum. frame. Have thought about dutz fasteners for this also. Jon |

You know, I honestly thought this would have been done many times over, but I didn't come across anything in my search for knowledge. If anyone has some info or pics please post them or PM me the details. |

I have dzus all over my fairing and have had no problems. Just be sure to get the correct length of dzus since your plastic is considerably thicker than my fiberglass. |

Are you using the threaded "Dzus like" fasteners or the real 1/2 turn ones? How would you be able to get the little handles down in the recesses of the chin cover? |

I'm using aircraft clipnuts and cadmium plated hex bolts (1/4X28), looks GREAT on my black and Amber bike. |
