Apologies if this is a stupid question but does anyone know if the new ECM is flash upgradeable/programmable?

I do not know for sure, but I do believe that DDFI3 EPROM ECMs are programmable (EPROM = Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the case. The ability to go in and apply factory updates to address FI glitches seems like a no-brainer. Yet as best as I remember, this wasn't possible with the previous version DDFI. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

The Motor Company officially stated that in the 2005 Model Year that "Service ECMs are re-flashable (Will Not Retrofit)". That was on DDFI2. I can only assume that DDFI3 is the same way (The XBRR was the first to use DDFI3, and its ECM EPROM is re-flashable).

All Buell ECM's have been reflashable. It was a matter of figuring out HOW ;).

Direct link is the tool.
