Just wrap the headers, I swear the exhaust sounds louder and deeper. Anyone else notice this or is most likely my imagination? |

Perhaps its because the wrap prevents the high frequency noises from radiating from the headers... thus the lower frequency exhaust tone is more evident thus making it seem louder? |

Just be careful, wrapped headers over time could lead to the cracking of the stainless steel. Heated to near 1000 degree temperatures, the wrap doesn't let the heat dissipate from the metal normally. Over time the steel will fatigue and eventually crack. Wrap is great for racing, but in racing, parts are expendable. |

I have never heard a first hand report of header damage by wrapping the exhaust on a XB. It always seems to be someone who reports it from drag racing cars or circle track or someone who works in a race shop. |
