I am trying to convince myself that I am not imagining things. I know that the XB9R was offered in "Battle Blue" in 03 and 04. However, I am convinced that there are two different colors of blue XB9R. Am I just imagining things, or was one lighter than the other? If anyone has a picture of the two blues next to each other, I would appreciate seeing it.

For the XB9R there should only be one color of blue, which was the Battle Blue. There was a Thrust Blue in '05, but was only offered on the XB12 models.

One possible explanation is that Battle Blue was a relatively light color and tends to look even lighter in certain conditions:

Those two pictures of XB9R's there look like two totally different colors. I guess that color is affected by lighting/surroundings more than the thrust blue, which always seems to look the same. The 1st picture and the 3rd picture look like the same color to me.

'04 had White BUELL lettering on the airbox '03 Orange. 10m apart the '03 and '04 do actually look different but when next to each other they are close enough to blame sun fading for the minor difference. The color difference in the wheels adds to the illusion as well.

Orange is still a faster color, though.

Anyone got a picture of a Firebolt with the aftermarket blue paint kit ? I think the name was "Shifter" or something like that...
