I removed the saddle bags on my 2007 12Ss to put some clear film over the areas where the straps contact rails and found right side rail's paint spiderwebbing and cracking for about 2" near rear of rail. Only 2000 miles and a hand full of rides. Has anybody else had an experience like this? By no means end of the world, but sometimes these small problems irk me more than mechanical ones.

Yeah I noticed the finish on my siderails (subframe) looked less than perfect very quickly after I bought the bike. I ended up painting them to match the frame when I chopped the cheese grater. MUCH better IMO.
