Just received my Firebolt saddlebags and brackets. Where in the world to the smaller "Z" brackets go?

did you look at the instructions? They are there for the relocation of your side facing reflectors.

That is, if you still have them.

Dan,

I believe the "Z" brackets are used to extend the side reflectors - they attach where the turn signals go. I didn't bother putting mine on.

Samiam, I traded my Lightning bags for the 'bolt bags. They didn't come with instructions. The reflectors are long gone, as these brackets will be as well : )

So the big funky "tab bracket" bolts under the tail, the tabs go into the pockets on the backside/center side of the bag and the straps go over the body, but under the passenger seat? Guess I need to get some clear vinyl sign tape to keep the straps from rubbing the plastics.

Do all the Firebolt bags not expand like the Lightning bags, or did I get a set of early non expanding bags?

Thanks to all for the help on the Z brackets.

Dan

My Firebolt bags expand by a good 2".

The Z brackets are for the reflectors.

The bags also came with some clear tape to protect the plastic.

Ditto with XL1200R on the 2" and tape.

Dan,
Sorry, just realized how I sounded in my previous post, didn't mean to sound condecending to you dude. Yes, the "tab bracket" goes under the tail, and the straps go over the body and under the seat.
