I bought the Streetfighter myself. It's fairly comfortable and I can ride for a couple hours and not have a problem. I'm 5'8" and I can comfortably get my feet on the ground at a stop. With the stock CityX seat I was on my tippy toes. It looked to me from pictures and from other posts that the Low seat didn't have enough padding for me. Plus, I liked the logo on the Streetfighter seat. I don't think the others have it.

I have....and Recommend...the Buell Streetfighter seat!!

The Streetfighter seat is Lower than your CityX seat and far more comfortable than the "Low" seat. You should try a Lightning stock seat before you get a Low seat. The stock seat is lower than the CityX and Streetfighter. However, the stock seat can get uncomfortable on longer rides, as well.

Seat Height from Highest to Lowest:
1.) CityX
2.) Streetfighter
3.) Stock
4.) Low

Not sure how the Select fits in...???

On my XB9S - I, of course, started with the standard seat - Not very comfortable.
Bought the Streetfighter seat - comfortable.
Bought the Select seat - The most comfortable, but the cushioning tends to hold you in place, where on the Streetfighter seat you are more free to move.
They all seem to be near the same height.

i also have an '06 cityX, i'm a fan of the low. i've grown up on saddles (horses and bikes) and although i love the corbin, my 5'8" ass is too far from the ground even with the gunfighter.

low seat is hard, so it doesn't shift under your butt and cause pressure points to your back. kinda like sitting on your wallet when you have a seat on your bike with all that padding. bad juju for long rides. how do ya think the cowboys and indians rode all over the prairie? hard saddles. : )

I started with the stock 03' XB9S seat and switched to a Cityx seat. I think the CityX seat is the most comfortable by far. Way more padding than the others.

I switched to the Select seat... and I gotta say, I love this thing.
My weekend rides usually get into the 250 mile range, and my keester is quite happy with the select.
I have not experienced the 'moving around' problems with it. Maybe because I have textile riding pants instead of leather.

I had a select seat on my X, and I wish I had kept it, but I have prostate troubles and I needed the extra padding of the high cross seat, but damn my shortness. It can be hard to maneuver in a parking lot or something with my tip toes. I HAVE to wear boots, which is better anyways. I think all these seats these guys mentioned would be great. I even thought of the street fighter seat. How's the padding?

I put the Xb12scg seat on mine, off of the 07 model, it has a lil more gelly to it. The tall seat I traded directly across to the guy that needed more height and comfort on his Scg. As for the select seat, it will draft, duct and drain water right down your back side in any kind of rain storm. If you ride in the rain, or could get caught in the rain while riding, I would avoid that select seat. Mine was on there for a week before going to the Upoulstry shop. (unless you like a puddle of water for your seat, then by all means, have at it)

I know this is an old topic, but I just got an XB9SX. When I test rode it I also rode a pair of XB12S, one had a lower seat which I really liked. I (stupidly) assumed this was a low seat and ordered one for the CityX, since with my almost 30" inseam, all I could touch to the ground was my tippy toes. I've had bikes that challenged my inseam before and really would like a seat that puts me a bit closer to the ground than the stock CityX seat.

I picked up the low seat yesterday and put it on. Man is this a hard seat! I can practically flat foot the bike now, but I'm thinking a 200-mile day would be a really painful one.

So, I called the dealership today to ask them to check the part number on the seat of the XB12S (they're 100 miles away) and they said it was the Streetfighter but that it doesn't fit the sub-frame of the CityX. From this thread it looks like they were wrong.

Anyway I'm glad I found this thread. Looks like I'll be ordering a Streetfighter seat...
