i have an 06 xb9sx, and the passenger peg mounts are too long for my petite little passenger.
i saw an 03 lightning with a much shorter set-up. was that factory then? again, i'm only lookin' for the v-shaped mount for the passenger pegs. any knowledge out there?

Dunno about the Lightnings, but the passenger peg hangers (the V-shaped mount)on the Firebolts were updated to a longer piece on the 04 and later models. It is common for 03 owners to install 04 hangers for the extra room...I've never done so, but I've thought about it.

Anotherwords, sounds like you need 03 peg hangers. You can find them on ebay frequently for a little of nothing. Check with someone knowledgeable like Dave at Appleton to be sure they are in fact shorter than the later model ones. Good luck.

Hey Xbullet-

I've got a pair from my '03 Lightning that I can sell you. They are in Excellent Condition.
And yes, the '03 passenger Brackets are shorter.
