I've got an 03 -9s equipped with the "race-kit" and just installed THE DRUMMER....... and i still can't believe how much differance it made to the power delivery ! the "powerband" is smooth as glass. the motor now pulls very well at about 2800 rpm all the way to redline. with the race pipe it really didn't start pullin good till about 3500--3600rpm (with a pronounced "hit"at about 42-4400rpm.) soo... if you like smooth power everywhere buy the drummer. if you like a"hit" in your power get the "race",d&d or similiar.

What's the volume difference? I know the Drummer is louder at WOT, but is it louder than the race kit at idle and around town?

I have a race kit, but love the stealthness of the Drummer (and the EPA stamp), but need something that is quieter because of where I live. Thinking of getting a Drummer done the road, but seeing if I can talk to Kevin about trading a little hp, for some quietness.

the drummer is a little louder than the "race" but more importantly its a deeper sound, kinda exotic! and it only has an outlet on one side of the muff.a fellow bueller& i did a "ride-by" sound test and i thought the race muff sound seemed to "carry" farther than the drum. but the drummer was louder as the outlet side passed by.

After going through all this, I decided on a Drummer for several reasons:

1) no valve (allows use of Race ECM)
2) specifically tuned to work with the OEM maps (no DirectLink mapping needed)
3) low end torque per Al's exhaust shootout
4) not crazy loud

I would like to say I love the pipe, but I'm waiting to see whether by bike is totaled or not after my accident a week & half ago, so I haven't installed it yet :-(

I'm with you Addict.
I couldn't be happier with my switch from race pipe to drummer. GREAT power delivery especially where I had gotten used to 'the hole'.
