i am very interested in this and have read some of the archive stuff but would like a little more imput does this harm the integrity of the bike is there a way to do it that wont ,, and could i see some pics of this proccess finished

I have seen 2 answers here, yes and no. My vote is no unless you polish it until it looses thickness.

Personally, I think that the idea that polishing the frame weakens it is a total load. Tons of MX guys do it, and they are much harder on their bikes than we are on ours. The .010" of structural material to polish the frame, I would bet falls within the factory specs for frame thickness.

it will void your warranty. buell says that there is a lining inside the tank. when polishing it, it is possible to create enough heat to cause the lining to peel.

but i say once my warranty is up she is going to shine!

I say go for it- I have polished many bike frames and aluminum parts and it should come nowhere close to how hot the inside spar of the frame gets next to the motor. All your doing is some light sanding and polishing
