While breaking in Lyndalls, I was doing hard stops with cold engine. The motor was stalling virtually every time, which it is known to do when cold on hard stops. I assume it is fuel starvation of some type, and it did this before and after re-map for Micron. Because I had to do 20 of these, and I was too impatient to ride long enough to warm it up, I tried to anticipate stall and as I stopped I would feed more and more fuel to counter-act stall. The bike would sputter and kick, and sometimes slowly catch, sometimes die. One the last one, I started feeding clutch and rolling more gas as it sputtered, feeling as though it was only on one cylinder. I was at a dead stop, waiting to turn left. As I fed clutch it started pulling backwards!, I freaked, sure I was going to at the very least foul the plugs from these shenanigans, or hear a KABOOM! as I pinged and detonated the engine to pieces.

What do you think happened? Now that the pads are set in (and stoppies, a previously undo-able stupid human trick for me, are easy) I won't be nailing the brakes when cold for awhile -

Quite obvious...you must have slipped it into reverse!

That indeed is very strange, the ignition timing should make the feat impossible
(valve timing would also be working against it as well)...
how far did it pull you backwards?
if it was just a little bit it could have been that it was just the front fork uncompressing
and "pushing" you backwards as you came down from the stop...?

hi guys this is my first post on sight i have 04 xb12r and have had the same issue although i was very hot after being stuck in some intown traffic and was not at the time riding on the front wheel oil light came on and lost all compression and as i slipped out the clutch she started pulling backwords ripp[ed the clutch in in confusion and she stalled

Not uncommon on two-strokes if the spark came after tdc.

Oil light was on for me in this instance too - I think it did get almost to TDC, and then reversed, with maybe some kind of really early/late ignition happening to let it barely run on one cylinder -

IF the oil light was on, it had probably already stalled, and was kicking back, a phenomenon that people with kick starts know only too well. It is sometimes enough to lever someone over the handlebars.
