Buellers,

Greetings! This is my first time here on bad weather bikers. I've been reading up on what's here and I'm amazed at the amount of content that is out here.

To my question:

I have a '05 XB9SX and I love it. The only mod I've made so far is getting rid of the pasta stainer. But, I want more sound from the exhaust. I'm not a racer per se, so I don't feel the need to spend $500 on a ceramic muffler from Buell.

Any ideas? Are there any more cost effective parts or modifications I can make that you guys know works without compromising the sweetness of my bike.

Thanks in advance for your advice. I have a lot to learn!

Thanks,

Brent

The race kit includes the ECM, the air filter, and the muffler for that much money. Muffler alone is much cheaper.

Or, send your stock muffler in to drummer to get better sound/power.

But, if you improve the air intake and the muffler, you need to remap/replace the ECM or you will run lean.

The Special OPS pipe is one of the coolest sounding pipes I have ever heard!

Welcome to the Frenzy.

Glad to see Buellers showing up, seems like lately, on a weekly basis. This is fantastic. Welcome aboard.

As to your questions, I have the same bike. Well if you look at my profile, I have the mods I have done. Just give ya an idea. And believe me, there is much more to do. LOL. Forgive my picture. It is just a bit out of date. I will renew it when I get the new Special Ops pipe on and Race ECM.

Good luck to ya! Again, great people, great board. We know everything.

Just a correction.. The Special Ops Pipe is 250.. It's only 50 bucks more but from what I have heard it's awesome.

if you don't care about your hearing the Jardine RT-1 slip-on sounds great, but it is extremely loud. thinking bout modifying my stock can or maybe looking into the Special Ops pipe or the Drummer. a guy i know has a D&D can that sounds great as well, not as loud as the Jardine.

welcome aboard

Ctyxrnr where did you hear that the jardine is louder that the D&D, the D&D is by far the loudest accept for the force.

I think he means deeper sounding. I have the D&D he is talking about. I ride with Ctyxrnr and a new or freshly packed Jardine is really deep sounding.

deeper is correct which seems like its not as loud as the Jardine. after a long ride my ears are really hurting. even with noise cancelling earphones for my mp3 player.

so brent if you want you can ride my bike and maybe just maybe Dtx will do the same. for comparisons on loudness and if these are the one you want since they are alittle expensive.

i'm currently in the proccess of modifying my stock pipe. if i like the way it sounds then i will be putting my Jardine up for sale.

Any of the aftermarket pipes will be loud in your helmet. I sold my jardine for a drummer and my ears still bug me after long highway rides.
