Well, I finally got the clear windshield. First impressions. I like it. It is Much better in clear, as it does not take away from bike. I will tint/paint/decal the bottom portion of it later if I still have the bike.

Removed the windblast from the chest and brought it up. BIG difference, seems the majority of the air now comes front the front top of the tank( airbox cover ). No buffetting of helmet. Very slight added windnoise only noticeable without earplugs.

Tried it up to 90mph ( closed course professional driver : ) and it's ..like butta...

Big improvement in day to day use of bike. Thanks to DAVES for supplying the windshield.

The bad news, I want a Uly and I have an interested buyer coming tomorrow to look at the bike. Dangit, won't get to enjoy this windshield much, gonna have to put a few hours or riding time quickly.

Pics to follow shortly.

As you can tell by the 3rd picture. It blends in as opposed to the black one on their website.

4th picture is my first kill with the windshield.
One more benefit. Those bug guts were headed to my jacket !

That is a thousand times better than the web site photo. You're right, clear isn't too bad where as the dark one was horribly hideous.

Looks good
Hmm, I wonder how it would look if you just painted the inside of the lower half?
This would hide the wiring and rest of the stuff tucked in there.

would you be able to reinstall the stock fly screen under or over the windshield with longer screws?

"I will tint/paint/decal the bottom portion of it later if I still have the bike."

Yes, that is the plan

Dave, Holes do no match up because of the thickness and curvature when mounting the flyscreen over. The thought of "super" velcro ala lumar lip has crossed my mind.

Looks great. Good luck with the goal of the ULY. One nice bike. Hopefully the new owner will have to darken the lower section. Your picture 4 (yellow bug splatter) make me wonder why anybody would ride without a helmet.

That looks a thousand times better than the dark wind screen. This is the one that I want for my XB12Ss, but everyone that I've talked to doesn't know how to get a hole of the people that makes this windshield. Its made by JP graphics in Germany.

I thought HillBillyMotors sold that JP Graphics screen? worth an email Bigbuell.

They do one that curves down a little more framing the headlights which interests me but I'd quite like to keep the Hero Blue colourway of my SX.

Maybe you could get some blue window tinting film for the lower part of the screen Superbee? Or craft shops do that stained window painting stuff that might work well if you want to keep the original look?

Question for Dave, what would one of these cost me? (the clear one)

All: I just painted the bottom black this morning. I masked it off and painted from the inside from guages down.. Looks like a top notch paint job with about 1/4" clearcoat! Will install tomorrow when I get off of work and post at pic. Looks much better.

Rafartist: I paid the ceebaileys price minus the 10% badweb discount ( which pretty much covered shipping ) from DAVES

You'll have to see my pics tomorrow. Makes the bike look good and is MUCH more of a daily rider.

Yea, I thought painting on the inside would give you that clearcoat look. That's how we paint our Radio Control vehicle bodies, and it comes out nice.
Can't wait to see your pics!

Hey Superbee, that looks really good with the bottom painted. I've been waiting to see one of these in clear and I think I'll be ordering one shortly.

It makes a HUGE difference. It ain't no Goldwing, but everyday ridability is much better.

Wow. The paint makes an even better difference. They should come like that from the company! For the first time, I'm starting to really like this windshield.
