Most of you know the my motor blew in Daytona . The motor was built by Hals and this was the first weekend on the bike. I will have a full report what went down very soon. I am waiting for a conference call with Terry,Dan,Sam, and Tom. I will limit my comments for now.

For the record items bought from Hals
1450 roadrace kit $5200
swingarm conversion $3000
Frame Sliders $ ???

Diablobrian my brother owns the Hals built modded street bike that went for $13500.00 or so.

This is a public venue. Hal's isn't a sponsor, but that doesn't make any difference. It is simply uncool to do what you seem to be doing. I can totally understand your frustration. However, Hal's is a reputable shop from all I've heard. Racing engine sometimes blow. Stuff happens. It ain't fair to run them under the bus in public. It SURE ain't the way to seek amicable resolution. Suggest you reconsider your post and edit it as you see fit.

Who built and tuned the engine?

Dude, it's a race bike. They blow up. If you want a motor guaranteed not to blow run a stock motor. Not Hal's fault.

When you leave the shop with a RACE motor...absent something agregios, that baby is YOURS.

Your, essentially, warrant when you check it over and deem it fit to ride that you are absolving the builder, absent outright fraud or negligence, of any responsibiity.

If they left a piston out, maybe. Short of that, you're going to have a darn tough time finding much sympathy in this crowd. I've toasted a couple myself and know the sting of an XR with a hole in the front of the case.

I had my motor refreshed at the end of the 2004 season. I have Rich's @ Innovative 1169 kit. The place that put it all back together here in WA didn't do it right. As soon as I got it on the track it wasn't working right. I took it back to them and told them to fix it. the bike was fine when I gave it to them and I got it back not working. So a month later and missing one race weekend I got the bike back working. So if you ask me if I bought a full race motor and took it to the track and it grenaded the first race, you can bet your ass I would be asking for them to do something about fixing it on them. My opinion if anyone was asking...

Dudes,

He honestly hasn't given positive or negative connotations. Feedback about the vendors we patronize.
Positive or negative is valuable to our spending habits, and one of the reasons I read messages on badweb.

I don't see anyone jumping in at Corbin's defense on a very negative thread currently on the board.
Is it because Mike Corbin dosen't read this board?

Ok I hope everyone realizes what they are saying. DUDE, Its a race motor crap happens! Ok tell you all what. All of you that keep saying that come to me to build your race motors next time. When you fire it up and it runs for 10 minutes and then blows up your going to get the DUDE, Its a race motor crap happens statement from me too. Good grief. Yes they are not intended to last like a stock motor but they are supposed to run like a race motor. And this post is not directed at diablomichael but all the others that made those interesting comments. Ok let the flames rain unto my poor soul!

Yohiman- I have NO problems with Hals to date heck Dan who works there and rides for them had his bike go up in Flames during Daytona. I am not flaming Hals in anyway. If you end up charging 6K for a motor and claim that it will put out X amount of HP then it should . If you tell your client that you will build it with certain parts you should. If your invoice says your motor will put out this X amount of HP it should , If you website says X kit cost this amount and it will put out this much HP it should or they should match( kind of the same thing as before) , If it say it will be built with so and so parts it should.

I am not saying anything just yet. Terry has been great to work with! Race motors blow up , it happens . People that buy 6K items should know if the people that build stand behind them or they dont! If a person would take the time and look lets see what Hals website says, I will cut and paste it below. Let me just say this Terry and Tom have been great to work with . Those guys are great . Crap I cant post Hals web because there site seems to have issues at the moment. More information will come . I can post it later or scan my bill with my dyno with Hals map. True colors will shine . THIS IS NOT A FLAME , If that was true I would post more truly bad statements . I dont have anything bad to say, I dont have all the details so that would not be fair. Hals has stood behind everything they have said to date! Dan B motor went up in flames at Daytona , shit happens . Greg Avellos motor went down on the Dyno before it hit the track . Stuff happens !

Regardless what you intended, the original post read like a veiled threat, and people reacted accordingly. Your disclaimers (again regardless of what you intended) reinforced the veiled threat interpretation.

If you dont have details, what is the point of this thread?

Should have waited until all the info was available before starting something like this. Pointless.

Stop looking for the negative... I have no problem with Hal's to date . I have had great luck with Terry and Tom . They are sorting things out . I am sure most know of the issues between Hal's and Revolution . I happened to get caught in the cross fire. I have nothing bad to say about Hal's. I did get sent to Daytona with a one off motor due to the two company's problems and it blew before it made the big show. Hal's did promise to make it right! It is the same kit that did blow on the dyno on Greg's bike. I am told its the same kit on Dan Bs bike which caught flames during the race. I will post a start to finish report with dynos soon. Seems like so many want to look for the negative just because the motor did mot last to make it to the first race. Emails / Post can be taken the wrong way. No I don't have all the details yet . I am waiting on Hal's and that tends to take time. I am not there only client. I will accurately post all that has happened it just not fair to do it just yet. Yes maybe I should have waited . I did not think there would be such interest or think that it would be looked at with such negativity. Hal's has stood behind everything to date. I was tempted to post when I was sent out with a one off motor . Hal's did there best to get me to Daytona on parts they felt where not to specification . I did not for political reasons . More information will come. It will not be a flame . Like my friend and old endurance racing partner from roadracingworld.com says sometime the truth hurts but it is what it is. I think the Hals guys are great . Why not post the story . Yes I dont have the full one and maybe I should have waited. For the record the guys at Hals got me to Daytona on a motor they normally would not sent out the door just to make sure I made the race.

Buellisic,

understand what? I just want to be clear. I do understand that Terry and Hals have been great! I do understand I am a rider and not a builder so I paid big dollars for a company to build a motor. I could not so I hired the best which would be Hals. I still think so help me understand.

i agree with isham. heck, i don't care who builds a motor- if it blows up due to improper assembly and they fix it even though they really don't have to- that is good press for them. if it blew b/c the rider was trying to turn 10grand out of it, that's something different. however, a good mechanic should be able to tell. besides, a good heated debate always raises eyebrows...

When I first read this thread, I didn't see it as an attack, threat, etc.., but as someone who wanted to share some information. I'm also interested in what is going on, the news to be shared. A lot of people seemed pretty quick to jump to conclusions.

WOW,
Im just watching to see how this all pans out in the end. I love this sight and my bike as much if not more than others(atleast I like to think so).
But the
Internet/Email/Computers is a good tool. It has its draw backs though. Its definetly not a subsitute for talking to somone in person. Here there is No facial expressions, body language, or tone, that can be detected. Only what we perceive through black and white letters. Everyone needs to chill out a little.
Quit fighting!

Thanks for giving Michael the benefit guys. I do not know how much access he has to the 'net during the weekend.

I will do my best to help with things, but He has been the one in direct contact, not I, so I will leave second hand
info out of this.

As I said in the post archived on this thread, if I were upset with Hal's, my bike and profile would be the first
things denuded of Hal's advertising. Note the rather large Hal's sticker (blue orange and white sticker on the
fairing), and prominent mention of Hal's in the performance mods on that profile.

Actions speak far louder than words right? Don't jump to conclusions.

I agree Court, his first post may have been a little clumsily worded. That's not a new thing even with professional
ad copy writers.
