I am wondering what everyone thinks about the GPS unit that Buell offers on their web page for the Ulysses. I would like to know why they don't say it will fir the s/r/ss/or sx models? $699.99 is kinda steep, but hey it even has the Buell logo on it tho. | ||

Check the Big, Bad, and Dirty (Ulysses) forum. It has been discussed in there. I would guess that it dosnt show fitment because of the power connections. | ||

The GPS itself is great. I've had a Garmin Quest since the day they were first available. This is my 3rd Garmin GPS. I just use RAM mount stuff, but I've got mounts for all my bikes. I'd be very interested to see the mounting interface Buell is using. A little FYI, the Garmin Quest can be bought for right around $400, the motorcycle specific mount for another $50. Yes, $700 is high. | ||

Id rather get a Navman 510, the interface seems to be better with a larger screen and you can pick one up for around $300 $700 is way too much for the Buell GPS | ||

Just got a Garmin Quest off of Ebay, new in the box, with warranty and shipped, for $350. You even have the option of loading your own startup screen image to be displayed, for example, the Buell logo. | ||

There's a Buell marked Quest kit for the XB12X on eBay for $595. The auction has some photos and descriptions of the bits and pieces in the kit. Looks like there was some thought and effort in engineering the thing to fit and work well on the Uly. Sort of puts the difference in price in perspective a little. A search for "buell quest" will turn it up. One thing I'd check before I bought a Buell kit is that the Garmins come with City Select North America DVD with a full unlock but that is not mentioned in the eBay item as part of the Buell kit. If that DVD does not come with the Buell kit then you won't have the North American street level detail, only the basemap with the major roads and highways. Jack |
