I want to get the Buell hard saddle bags (p/n 91458-05Y) for my XB9SX but want to know if it will be safe to have them on without the passenger foot pegs bracket...

Anyone try that?

Thanks

-i did do a search- :P

I can't see why not. I tried on a set of Cortech bags on my City X at Cycle Gear the other day and they crowded the rear signals too bad. I was thinking of trying on a set of the Buell bags next time I'm at the dealership.

I got the Buell bags for my XB9S and had to put the bitch pegs back on. You need 'em to wrap the front hold down strap around. I also found out I needed my rear deflectors too, but those were long gone. But I can get by wrapping the rear strap around the turn signal stalk.

Dahh.. I think I have two left brackets in my kit. Both brackets have holes in the same angles so one sticks out more then the other when mounted. Can some one confirm that the left and right brackets have different angled holes to fit a specific side of the bike?

BTW, California HD has a few new XBs in their show room. one 05XB9SX, one 06 Kick Ash XB9, and one Black SS. The Ulysses that was there a few weeks ago was gone. The sales guys seemed pretty happy to get the new stock in and were even wearing Buell shirts!

I have the soft bags for my XB9S and noticed the same thing. The rear brackets are drilled the same. ...not side specific so the bolt head on one side rubs the back of the bag.

I wrapped the bolt heads / bracket thoroughly with electrical tape. When I think of it and have time I plan on switching out the bolts with carriage head bolts so I don't have to tape them and they won't rub through the back of the bags.
