My header has lost it's gold finish. It's become like a dark grey. Anyone know if this can be polished back to the original? Would this be considered warranty work?

Mother's Aluminum polish and a buffer will bring it back to new looking.

Jet hot. Itll last forever just about.

Another option would be to remove them, sand them down, get a high-temp enamel primer, and then a high-temp paint and coat them. I would want pipes that match the bike.

I'm getting mine ceramic coated black inside and out and it's only $150. Well worth it, also keeps the heat down. It's going to be a pain to swap it out though.

I guess just reading through the manual it seems like a lot of work. It’s just going to be hard for me to be patient and take my time to do it right. The header on the bike now has a dent from when the previous owner dropped it. I used header wrap and wrapped it while it was on the bike. The wrap looks really cool and I like the appearance of it. If you don’t want to polish the header you may look into wrapping it.

I can vouch for Dana's method. It works extremely, unbelievably well on stainless steel.

After one try, I came to the conclusion that I'll never use anything else on my headers.
