I just noticed a strange knocking sound from my engine area, the knock is not in time with the RPM's,.
this might be redneckin but I put a stetescope to the case, head, cylinders, they all sound like a well oiled machine. Whatthe hell can be causing this knocking?
Thanks in advance

The bike runs right other wise.

What about the primary chain adjustment? If it has too much slack, could that be the knocking you hear

Not sure if XB's got one, but evo sporty's are famous for bad compensating sprockets(front one in primary)
They make a knocking sound that will make you swear the bottom end has gone south!

If it is only when you're riding, it could be a front end noise such as loose steering head bearings.

Otherwise I'd guess primary chain tension.

Good luck,
Bill
