I just noticed a strange knocking sound from my engine area, the knock is not in time with the RPM's,. this might be redneckin but I put a stetescope to the case, head, cylinders, they all sound like a well oiled machine. Whatthe hell can be causing this knocking? Thanks in advance The bike runs right other wise. |

Maybe chek out the engine mounts and the tie bar bolts? |

What about the primary chain adjustment? If it has too much slack, could that be the knocking you hear |

Not sure if XB's got one, but evo sporty's are famous for bad compensating sprockets(front one in primary) They make a knocking sound that will make you swear the bottom end has gone south! |

If it is only when you're riding, it could be a front end noise such as loose steering head bearings. Otherwise I'd guess primary chain tension. Good luck, Bill |
