* Disclaimer - This post is only a rambling, and idea, a thought. It is not a reccomendation or proclamation that you must do the same. Don't like it? Das' ok, we'll call it a draw.

Ok, anyway...

I've been wanting for more in my mirrors but I'm reluctant to do the bar-end thing. I don't want to detract from the stock look. I like what I do to look like it could be OEM. That's just me.

I bought a pair of round blind-spot mirrors and some rectagular ones. Haven't commited to either. Been playing around with masking tape. Going back and forth. And then it hit me.

Stick the round ones on the fusebox caps...

Pretty much nobody'll know they are there but me. They seem to look like they'll work pretty fair with the added benefit of useable mirrors when you're leaned into the tank - no need to pull back or shift head position to see the regular mirrors.

I should note - I'm using a pair of rounds with an angled mount. Not the usual flat ones. Those would not work out at all. See this side pic.

That's not a bad idea...even for the track maybe. I was watching the CCS races at Firebird last year and the leader kept looking under his armpit while tucked for a peek at who was trailing. I bet those would have been usable in the tuck without all the movement.

I had the same problem with only being able to see my elbow in the standard mirrors, I bought the Buell extended mirror kit and they are superb, still looks stock but give a terrific clear view rearward

Vibration is about the same, I have just one spot around 4000 RPM where I get a bit of distortion but even then ok, they look ok too IMO.

After ride report:

I REALLY like the rounds on the fuse box / relay covers. Not perfect, but indeed better. In normal riding, as cars leave the view of my regular mirrors, I can see them in the rounds, and then in my peripheral as they pass. Also, they do not vibrate near as much as the mirrors out on the stalks. Not much at all.

Keepers...

Well there's your problem.... cars are passing you. Pass them instead and you won't need the mirrors!

Seriously, I'm on JC Whitney right now... good idea.

Great idea, I love it. I am looking for a better rear view too but have other plans for the fusebox. I dont really want endbars either.
