I need to adjust my brake pedal so it is lower. I have a XB9SX and need to adjust the brake pedal. I know the rod is threaded but there isn't a lot of room for adjustment. If I need to adjust it more do I just cut the threaded part to as short as I need it? I need the brake pedal to be about 1-2 inches lower than what it is stock.

It looks like cutting the bolt would work... But I would also check to see how far into the master cyl. you can run the bolt. If it'll go in any farther, you may not need to cut it, or you may not need to cut as much...

I had to adjust mine, and I didn't think there was room either!!

A little turn goes a long way at the other end.

If you need more, I don't see why you can't cut it off a little, just as long as you don't mess the threads up so bad that it won't go back in.

You can cut it as I did mine to reposition the lever lower to fit your foot position better but I have noticed a little loss of leverage and therefore braking power.......

If you're considering cutting that piece, be sure to have something in place to chase the threads with like the correct sized tap and die already threaded onto the bolt so when you hack it off, you can thread it off to clean em up.

Thanks guys for all the help. I am an OIF vet and was wounded while over there. I have nerve damage to my right leg/foot. I have what they call drop foot and can't raise my foot to get to the brake pedal. So moving the brake pedal is my only choice. I also only have about 50% feeling in my foot so I need to put the pedal somewhere that I can get too easy. I already swapped the foot pegs out for son R pegs so that helped some. Learning to ride all over again with my foot the way it is has been a challenge.

I now have 310 miles on my bike & am loving every minute of it. I know some will say what is taking you so long but I am limited in the amount of time I can ride right now. As I get better I hope I'll be able to do 200-300 mile rides again. But for right now it is too much strain on my leg.
