I just bought a manual for a 2003 9R on EBAY, but I ride a 2003 9S. Are there any particular differences that I should keep in mind when using the R manual to work on the S?

Can't say for sure but I have the 2003 XB9S manual and some of the pictures in it are of a 9R. So my guess is that they are the same with the exception of some bodywork stuff such as the head and tail.. That'd be the stuff like how to align your headlights and such..
