Had I ridden both before buying, and had more options locally, I might have bought an R rather than this CR. Simply because my arthritic spine doesn't like laying down on the air box to get out of the breeze at speed...

I've been looking, but can't find a ready made wind screen for the CR.

I looked into the cost of adding an R fairing to the CR, but with new parts, it doesn't make any sense.

Used parts appear to be reasonable on EBay at the present time, but I have yet to see all of the parts necessary to make the change.

Anyone experimented with other options?

Might it be a good idea to start collecting parts as they turn up and hope that I find all of them eventually?

Or should I just sell some other toys and look for a clean R at a reasonable price? (It might be nice to have both...)

I think the laminar lip is the only option. You could probably trade for an R. Imo CRs are probably more desirable as there were fewer made.

I prefer the CR because of the lower gearing. More giddyup.
That being said, I also like the R's fairing, and installed one on my CR.
I had to purchase:
fairing bracket
fairing
lights
mirrors
windscreen

everything bolted right on, no clearance issues since I have the high bars.
I like the looks, and the wind protection provided by the fairing.

Palmer Products in the UK makes a universal adjustable windshield bracket, I have one on a Lightning, I don't see why it wouldn't work on the CR, I believe it is wide enough.

You would have to drill 4 holes in the flyscreen, that is the hardest part of the whole thing.
