Anybody give their new stator an oil bath before putting cover back on. I can't see where this would hurt anything. Any comments?

I let mine sit in oil while I had it out. Had my bike apart for 10 days or so waiting on parts (sprag replacement, defective parts received on first order). The rotor will rust if left out of the bike for too long. I started to notice on the 2nd day so I soaked it in oil and scrubbed off the surface rust. That was 2k miles ago or so and no issues.
