I'm doing something similar. There isn't any info on this on EFR's web site, so it is hard to say what EFR is doing.

I emailed the company a couple times looking for specific information about their kits (dyno charts, cam specs, etc). The replies i got were not confidence-inspiring.
The lack of detailed information while offering subjective opinion as fact make me question the quality of his products.

The 1235 engine kit is  very streetable. The kit comes with everything that you need to build a very stronge engine The parts on my web site is what you get for 4800.00 to build a 1235cc engine. Stock cyl. heads work very good with my cams but, I make more horsepower with my ported cyl. heads. The cost on the cyl. heads are 2500.00 exc.

Deanh8,
I am building a 1199 version. Stroker 72mm crank, Carrilos, Pistal pistons and custom cams. among many other items. See my other posts for more details. Do you know the exact reason for your 1190 engine failure?

Torquehd,
I am very proud of what I do. I have no issues in releasing any of my thoughts, philosophy or discoveries. Building versions of this engine is expensive, as no after market parts exist. It would be very nice to share some of my parts costs with others so inclined, but no takers yet. This would be very helpful in the minimum quantity area.

I would be very cautious of those folks not willing to share specs on their deliverables.
