I've decided to buy a KEDA RT-3 and the ECM to match it. My question is, will the bike be tuned too rich if I run the EBR ECM with the stock exhaust if I swap it out for road trips? It sounds like a stupid question, but I do enjoy the quiet every once in a while. Do I need to buy two EBR ECM's (or a tunable one) or can I run the EBR ECM on the stock exhaust without damaging the engine?

It will run somewhat rich with the stock exhaust, but it will run. I know I looked at the programming to compare at one time and at around 7k rpm, mine calls for a fair bit more fuel than stock did. If you're just cruising, it wasn't all that bad from what I recall.

While not ideal, it will be fine with the stock exhaust.

If I remember correctly EBR will reflash the ECM for $50.00.

The price on re-flashing is higher now I think.

I guess the moral of the story is if I swap back to the stock exhaust, swap to the stock ECM also or it will run too rich to ride normally.

No, it will run better with the Race ECM than the stock ECM.

"No, it will run better with the Race ECM than the stock ECM."

It will not be too rich with the stock exhaust installed and a race ecm tuned for the KEDA RT3?

It will certainly be richer at some RPM points, but "too rich" is up for debate, as long as it isnt prolonged use.

I believe what he meant was with the overall tuning improvements made with ANY of the race ECMs it will run better than with the stock unit.
