So I finished my rotor swap and the bike had a new stator and regulator done by HD from last year. I only have about 500 miles on the bike and noticed when I turn on the ignition and if it sits for a few seconds the battery light comes on. the bike starts up fine and had no other issues. I checked th ebattery this morning. With the bike off it was 12.5 volts but dropped to low 11's when I turned the key. I didnt check it running or at 4krpm as my kids were sleeping this morning and the garage is under their bedroom. I didnt know if it was an issue with the fans draining the battery. I cant see soemthing starting to fail already since the bike has such little mileage after the upgrades.

As a side question I see a lot of chatter about the voltage regulators and am wondering it its worth looking into an upgrade on the stock unit or with the rotor mod done we should be ok.

have the harness voltage "fix"?

How old is the battery? 12.5 seems a bit low. if you have a decent trickle charger charge the battery and see how it does again?

I had something with the harness done on a recall early on when I bought the bike. The battery is brand new, but before this past week the bike had been sitting for a few weeks. I have it on the charger since yesterday so it should be fully charged and I will check the charging numbers later today to see whaere the voltages are at.

new EBR rotor w/ oil mod?

I would remove the harness "fix" and that should help. I just found a video someone posted on youtube on removal of that harness.

not sure who did it (not me), but hopefully helps.

Let us know how your voltage goes after charging? Your battery should be fine after a couple weeks (not permanently hurt or fully discharged). But 12.5 is definitely low IMO. A good trickle charger and the plug off the battery are a great idea to install/use if it's going to sit long between rides. Will definitely help your battery last longer. I just swapped my stock battery (09 25R) w/ a shorai, but it was actually still going strong.

HTH - GL!

Thanx for the info I will give that a go. Heres the numbers after a full charge for a day or so on a battery tender. With the bike off 13.10 ignition turned on 11.99 at idle 13.0 and at 4k the highest I got was 13.85 I will be sure to keep it on the tender between rides.

Oh and the rotor swap was for an EBR rotor with the oil mod.

11.9v is low low

I would suspect the battery is weak.

I was having some issues that didn't point 100% to the battery, but I took the chance and replaced my 2 yr old interstate. That was actually only 150 amps, as a I recall. Battery Plus had a Duracell that was 200 amp, and all my problems disappeared.

But when i drive it is going up to 14.2 again.
And everytime im at red light in the City is going slowly Down to 12.3-12.5v

I was taught a pretty good method for load testing an 1125. Set multimeter to vdc, and hook up to battery. Turn key, wait for fuel to prime, and start. Watch the meter while starting. You should see a drop. If this drop is down below 8v, the battery is dead and need replacement.

Its at it again. I had it on the charger the last few days. Rode to work no issues. Going home I was coasting to go through a toll plaza and noticed the light went on. It shut off a few seconds after I got it back in gear and got the rpm's up. When I got home I let it cool down a bit. At rest the battery was at 12.6, when I turned the bike on the fans kicked on and it went down to 11.8. I did the harness un mod listed above and it seemed like no change. This weekend I will try to check the stator and regulator, and next will have th ebattery tested.
