Or can i use the lower legs off a different bike and keep the outer legs from the 1125?

I modified a set of R1 front forks onto my 1125R. It is not a simple swap. I machined a new stem and a couple other pieces to get it to work. The R1 forks are different diameter as are most other sport bikes compared to the Buell, so you cannot just swap fork legs. Attack Performance sells a set of triple trees that will work to do the same thing, but they are very expensive.

I am very happy with the performance of the R1 front end.

If you don't mind, why do you want to change it? Frankly, it's one of the coolest features of the bike.

If it's just a performance thing, what have you done to improve the stock system?

I'm a big boy and ride the mountains, and I've yet to feel like I need to replace the braking system. Now I know on the track guys run into issues, but that's another story.
