Hey everyone I was looking to replace my front rotor and pads and also my rear pads! EBR shows out of stock for the slotted rotor, where could I fond one of these for sale? also what pads are recommended for fast paced street and track days as I plan on attending mid ohio here very soon! Thanks in advance

I know the EBR rotors are fairly cheap but Braking and Galfer both make rotors for the Buells.

American Sport Bike has this one.

I just can't see the value in spending $300 for an aftermarket rotor when the EBR part is only $180.

They will have more soon -- rotors are a wear part on these bikes when used for racing. I have multiple sets of wheels, but I still manage to need to replace them around once a season or so.

I have several rotors I've taken off -- some have some service life left in them, some don't. You are welcome to come by the garage at ECR and take one or two home with you if you just need stand-in replacement for now.

The EBR mounting kit is the most important part, IMHO.

The best pad I've found for the 1125R is the Dunlopad HH+ compound, part number SDP993. Great bite cold or hot, practically dust-free, great stopping power, last forever.

My hands-down favorite pad compound is the Vesrah SRJL-17 but as far as I know, it isn't made in a pad that's compatible with the 1125s.

Flesh -- do you race? I'm curious how that pad holds up in racing applications.

The Vesrah-XX are available for our bikes. It's every bit as good (or better) as the RJL.

Jdugger, no, I've never tracked my 1125R. I have the HH+ compound on my CBR600F2 as well and have done one track day with it (More to come next month.) and I remember them offering strong, consistent performance. This is with the stock tiny rotors and two-piston calipers. That said, I am not overly aggressive on the brakes so my experience may not be the same as everyone else's. That said, I recommend giving them a shot if you aren't fully satisfied with the pads you're using now.

BTW, where can I get the Vesrah pads? I'll give them a try next round on my 1125.

I had the Vesrah's and they lasted me about 5k street miles that includes some road trips. So not long at all I am going to try DP pads this time around!

I would never recommend the Vesrah or other race compound pad for street use.

99buellx1, good point--race pads are not so good for the street.

Here's a graphic I stole from www.kurveygirl.com illustrating the friction characteristics of four different Vesrah compounds. Of course I don't remember how to make image links show up as pictures, but here it is:

The SRJL-17 compound has the best bite when cold and remains consistently strong as it gets hot. The RJL compound has similar, albeit lesser, characteristics.

The SRJL-XX and SRJL-8 compounds appear to be more race-oriented--they have a lot less friction when cold but their friction increases noticeably as they build heat.

So if the pads EBR is selling are the XX compound, then they would not appear to be a good choice for street riding. The SRJL-17 pads last a LONG time, so it would suggest that the XX pads are of a significantly different compound if they wear out a lot more quickly.

The Dunlopad HH+ compound pads (SDP993 for the 1125R) feel and wear very similarly to the SRJL-17 pads.
