Hey Guys,

I'm not sure this is the right forum for introductions, but here I am. I got a 2009 CR with about 2900 miles. It runs like a top and has had the harness recall done. I did check the relay and it's fine. If I would have spent more time on here, you guys might have scared me out of it. I read the 'Any good news' post and wonder if there are indeed folks that haven't had trouble.
My big question is, the dealer is offering a 2 year warranty for $900. That sounds high but I have tried working them down a little bit. I'm thinking for piece of mind, I might do it. On the other hand, I am a wrench and $900 will buy an EBR and regulator no problem but not a engine spitting piston pin clips.
Opinions on the warranty would be appreciated but people telling me I'm an idiot comments could be lived without.
Also if anybody happens to know if a member traded this bike at Castle Powersports in Madison Tn, I would appreciate a hook-up.

Thanks
Jon

I would rather work on my bike then let some kid at a stealership making minimum wage work on it. I bought my 1125 knowing full well what I was getting into and have no regrets. I love riding this bike. Welcome to the forum.

I bought the extended 4 year warranty earlier this year. It gives me peace of mind. I also bought it because I'm lazy and don't believe that I should be working on something I know nothing about that only has two wheels. Just think of it as insurance on your engine and transmission because those are the only things I worry about failing on this bike. Since I bough it at less than half the price it sold for new in like new condition, in my eyes I am still a winner only forking out $1200.00 more for a 4 year warranty.

Congrats on the bike. They don't all have major issues. After 17000 miles, she runs great and aside from the clutch weep and recall items, I have no complaints. Good luck and enjoy! I bought my 08R new and absolutely love it.
