Can anyone recommend a replacement battery ? I know american sport bike has them and I'll call my dealer (about an hour away). If I remember correctly somebody said the harley batteries were ok.

Thanks

long version: I was riding, then stopped for 10 minutes, went to get back on and click-click-click. It was somewhere in the upper 12.x to lower 13.x on the volt meter before stopping.

After getting jumped (thanks random stranger) I rode home. Turned it off, 5 minutes later tried to start it and the same thing..click click click.

And fwiw, I do keep it on a battery tender. It's an 09 fire sale bike with the original battery, original stator, and wiring harness upgrade. There were no check engine lines before or after getting jumped and everything else seems normal. Looks like a simple replace battery. I'll throw it back on the tender, start it, and check the voltage with a regular volt meter to make sure it is charging but I don't suspect any problems at this time.

I put a Shorai lithium ion battery in my xb track bike, and I have been vary pleased with it's performance and lighter weight. No acid, less weight seems like the way to go to me!

minor update. I just used my volt meter and it's showing 12.53 volts, but it just won't start, starter turns weakly for 2 seconds then nothing.

So even though it looks like it has the voltage I'm guessing it just doesn't have the cranking power it needs.

You can try checking voltage while starting the bike. I think if it drops below 10 volts your battery is toast. Do not take this as the gospel but a rule of thumb

Fully charge overnight, pull the battery and take it to battery's plus, autozone etc and have them load test it. Thought mine was going but it tested at 312 ccas .
