Does it even matter? If I end up with the 09 I'm doing the ebr stator kit right off the bat so charging issues are not an issue. Thanks!!!!!   Froggy Posted on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 - 10:34 pm:        Both years are good Pros of 08: No stator issue Cons of 08: Being a first year bike, more likely to have the bugs like the gauge cluster that drains the battery, and then it was only available in one color. Pros of 09: More likely to be sorted out other than the stator issue. More color choice, both R and CR models available. Newer gauge cluster with gear indicator, swingarm spools. I have an 08 and I love it, but this was also partly due to all the guys I knew with 09s fighting stators, while I was just putting on stupid miles. And the EBR race ECU is pretty much a mandatory upgrade.
