well, i put my bike on the dyno today. i didn't get the chance to do a base run first. he said the 1125's usually put mid 125's at the wheel on his dyno. also said the highest he's seen on his dyno from an 1125 was 132. he couldn't remember what all was done to it. i'm pretty happy how Gemma did.

my list of mods:
modified stock muffler
EBR ecm
K&N filter
velocity stacks from Twin Motorcycles

I would make that run if I were a little closer...

I have roughly the same set up with my Keda RT2 exhaust, velocity stacks, E,B,R race ecm and K&N filter. I had hoped for a little more power output. My hopes were to have about 140 ish or so. Oh well, she runs really well anyway.

Though, I may have a few more ponies since I have the RT2 and you have a modified exhaust. Either way, she runs tip-top.

You also have to remember, the airbox is pressurized when the bike is moving. It's not really a LOT of pressure, but at speed, it's worth an extra one or two. My exhaust still utilizes all the stock baffles, so I would imagine yours in the upper 130's- lower 140's.

Mine's putting out 155 now, but it's had a fair bit of work done to it to get there, and that's on 100 octane race fuel.

It's nuts to ride the thing. It's just absolutely a monster.

Did you convert it over to a chain drive? I wouldn't think that a belt would be able to handle that much power for too long. That is pretty sweet though!

Still belt. Been thinking about the chain drive, though, since the belt drive eats Mg wheels.

I've got two Buell Race Mg wheels here I can't use now. : (

I would love to have a chain drive on mine, but there's no maintenance on the belt. Plus I only ride street. If I were to get onto the track on a regular basis, I would definitely do the conversion. I honestly think the belt is ok with that much power, depending on how hard you are on it. I suppose it's like anything else, just waiting until the most inconvenient time to go out...

Yep - I'll need to keep an eye on my 2-bearing rear now that I got the DSB motor... It was making 126 before the build (at 4500 ft. elev) and no belt/bearing problems. (Still on original belt). With motor and at lower elevs, I may actually have to keep the front end down.... Can't wait.

My speculation is the Aluminum wheels are OK, the it's Mg that will slowly fail.

I've not had belt problems, even at 150+ HP, or even indications the additional power stresses the system beyond it's reasonable ability.

The belt is a really decent final drive choice overall, honestly. It does have some drawbacks for the track -- lack of gearing flexibility, weight, bearing/wheel stress, etc -- but it's not a *bad* choice. Overall, it works decently well.

this seems like as good a time as any to hijack with a wheel question, but I'll resist the temptation and just link you guys to a new thread about the 3-bearing vs. the 2-bearing rear wheel:
