I thought some of you may enjoy my video from on my 1125R at Gingerman Racetrack in South Haven MI last weekend. This is the 1st half of the last session on Sunday in the I group with Sportbike Track Time.

P.S. I'd love to see more Buells at Track days! Stop babying these things and ride them like Erik intended! These things are not fragile and hold up very very well! That goes for the XB's too!

Yes, the track surface was terrible. The flag workers were also pretty lacking. I doubt I will be back there any time soon. It still beat a day at work though. ; )

I live very near Road America so that is my track of choice. RA is also an awesome facility as well as a great track. They rarely run on the weekends there though so my opportunities to run their are limited.

I was told one piece suits are not required. I have gloves and jacket with the zipper inside and hopefully tomorrow I will have half boots.

That is correct, 1pc suits are not required. But the jacket and pants must zip together and I believe they must zip all the way around. Check the web site for whatever track day place you plan to ride with and they'll have a list of what you need. For novice riders they try to balance the requirements to be both easy to meet yet keep you adequately safe. It's a fine line but they don't want to make it prohibitively expensive to get started.

For my first track days I had a Joe Rocket textile jacket and pants, a set of Joe Rocket boots, and some leather street gloves (the gloves covered the wrist as required). Now I have a 1pc Vanson suit, Sidi boots, and a nice set of Buell gloves. Of course this is in addition to a good helmet. I acquired all of this stuff with time though and didn't have to spend a ton of money up front to get started, with the exception of the bike of course. : ) The most important thing is to get the stuff you need to stay safe and go have fun!
