i am looking at getting a bag that can go on the rear seat to store stuff, as i currently carry a backpack. I am looking at p/n 88203-09Y, which is the buell bag. it looks nice, but with shipping its about $130, is it worth that? anybody that has it could you give some advice, or anyone that found another bag for less $$?

I know people have had good luck with the Cortech Sport bags, I have seen them up close but have not actually used them. They look to be REALLY nice. The tailbag runs 'bout $65 I think.

I know a few guys have thrown the saddlebags on the 1125 and they fit well, but I am not sure about the tailbag by itself. Shouldn't have any issues though.

Main point is that there are TONS of luggage options out there for reasonable prices, yeah.

The buell tailbag is nice, it's not worth $130. I think I paid $89 with shipping. I wonder why they are so much now? Anyway, it is a descent size, and it comes with plenty of adjustable straps, has a lot of storage pockets on the inside and has a rain cover built in, really stable once mounted. I have had mine for the last year and no problems with it. I think you could get another bag for less, or wait for a deal on the Buell bag.

I have the Buell tail bag on my CR. I cannot remember the exact price but I know it was under $100. I like it. Fits well. Looks good IMO. Sturdy, does the job. Glad I bought it.

I know I got my Buell tail bag under $90 on fleabay, but it was around the holidays.

I still haven't used. It looks great, sturdy, etc. Although I haven't tried to put it on yet, it does have an interesting strap system for attaching, I don't know if it'll be good or bad for the on-off process.

The stock bags you refer to has been discontinued and are hard to find. Just like the custom seat that you can find used on ebay at a higher price than it cost new...

I bought a small tank-bag, removed the magnets and fitted it to the rear seat with the strap that was on it. $30 at a scandinavian low-price-store called Biltema that features MC-gear, car-parts, office-supply, tools, bikes etc... Looks quite good... But don't know how the quality is yet...

Maybe you can find something similar somewhere?

Heres a link for some blowout pricing on the same bag, provided they still have any in stock, that is a good deal.

Slightly off-topic, but I do know that they have one Buell Tailbag at Coziahr H-D in Decatur, IL as of like two weeks ago.

I am using the Cortech Sport tailbag, and love it. I use it every day crammed full of school books.

Fits real well on the rear seat, I removed a lot of the extra straps and such, attached two forward "D" rings to passenger strap bolts, love it.

FirstGear Silverstone luggage.

MSRP for the tail bag is $120, but you can get it for <$100.

Works great.
Used it all (along with a backpack) on our 2,865 mile trip to Death Valley.
Regularly use the saddlebags & tank bag.

Stacks well, too...

That's awesome Chameleon!

I just recently ordered and received the exact same gear that you have on your Buell, and it looks great! I was checking the fit of the saddlebags on the back and was concerned about them bending the rear turn signals, but it doesn't seem like an issue on your set up, so that makes me happy.

I bought that entire set from www.ridersdiscount.com because the free shipping is extremely appealing and it came out to $305 USD. Great deal!

I have the Buell tail bag and it works great. For another bike, I just got the OGIO bag for $60, not as big but very nice.

I bought my saddlebags first from someone here on BadWeB. I think it was ccryder who sold them when he switched to hard bags.

I then bought the tank bag from a local store, Eagle Leather, and ordered the tail bag online.

I was checking the fit of the saddlebags on the back and was concerned about them bending the rear turn signals, but it doesn't seem like an issue on your set up, so that makes me happy.
You can see from the first image I posted that the turn signals do get a little tweaked, but it still works fine.
