On the way home cruising at about 75 or so, the display and headlights started to flicker and the engine cut in and out, and the bike died. Eventually I had to have the bike towed home.

I've checked the ignition switch and see two of the wires have frayed strands detached from the solder joint. I pressed the strands back in place they all have continuity. I was going to just resolder then but I decided to check the fuses again once I turned the switch to see if anything changed, and it did. All of the fuses seem to be working and getting power. But the display will not light up, and the brake light will not turn on when the front or rear levers are actuated.

I also removed the headlight bulbs since I had read a blown bulb might create a non start issue. But at this point I just want the display to come on. I went through the archives and didn't see anything like this. Does anyone have any suggestions. The bike had the charging harness done years ago, and has not had any recent service. Its been on a trickle charger for the past few months and did fine on the 45 mile ride to Dallas. Started up fine for the trip back, and just died about 15 minutes into my ride home.
