"We are charging a fair price for these great bikes, not "fire sale" pricing" It was my understanding that Harley was giving the dealer $5000 for each new 1125 Buell that they sold. Are you passing all of the factory to dealer incentives through to the purchasers? | ||

Just to let everyone know, I have talked with Teach in person and he is the real deal! He spent an afternoon talking with me about the 1125R and in the end, his enthusiasm and knowledge of the 1125R swayed me from the metric bikes I had been riding my whole life. He is a true Buell enthusiast! | ||

Teach, glad to see this thread. I could have saved a few hundred on my recent purchase by doing a fire sale over the phone ... But then I'd have to deal with shipping, remote payment, logistics, etc. Instead I went with a quasi-local dealer who supports Buell very well, and got to a price point on the bike that seemed more than fair. Spending an extra few hundred will be a good investment over the long-term IMO. Mike | ||

Fmaxwell - Uh-oh I think your are right.  But, it was a small fire! All kidding aside, this is bitter sweet for me personally. I had the honor to meet and chat with Erik and what he has done is remarkable. I can only hope that this will open up opportunities for him and Buell in the future. Milleniumx1 - I can understand your logic. Price isn't the only thing you have to consider. We are committed to Buells and our staff is also. I have a 1125R and a Uly. It is great to see all the new owners who have purchased these bikes, now I hope Buell will come back. Something is not right when you have leadership like Erik, a truly great machine and dedicated employees and have it shut down.... | ||

It seems even dealers like yourself were a bit surprised with the 10/15 announcement, at least the scope and/or finality of it. I don't know Erik personally, but watching that video message was painful. This isn't my first rodeo with Buell, hence the X1 screen name. I was so amped about getting that bike I didn't even notice I had spelled it incorrectly when I first registered at BWB. Buells are unique, and that is one of the main points of appeal for me. I'm looking forward to my dealer (who also happens to be my neighbor) bringing the bike to my house when set-up is done. Another selling point! Mike | ||

I was in shock! It didn't make sense with the recent AMA championship and the push that would have given them. PURE SPECULATION - but, I hope that once the dust settles that HD will put up Buell for sale. Maybe the timeline between them deciding to shut it down and the announcement did not allow time for exploring the details needed for a sale. | ||

It is Grand Stand Designs. (Sponsor of BWB) I also have the side fairings from them. It requires some work to mount, as it is a race fairing with no mounting brackets, hardware. I have already done the hard work and could help someone that wanted to use that fairing. | ||

Shit, I realized after posting that the side fairings weren't the factory ones. Any idea if the GSD bellypan will fit the factory side fairings? | ||

I have a belly pan at our dealership and I am waiting for them to get the Buell side fairings on a bike. The Buell fairing sides look awesome. BUT, they appear to be shorter on the sides than my GSD fairing, which would mean that there would be interference between the belly pan and the muffler. | ||

2+ for Teach and Western Reserve HD/Buell! Teach spent a lot of time discussing the 1125R with me and showing what he had done to his 1125R. That helped with my decision to go with the 08 1125R over the 09 1125CR. | ||
