Anybody have experience with lowering their 1125 yet? Had mine done at H-D and when they (forgive my terms) reduced the rear coil tension I got about 1" decrease in overall height but when they adjusted the front preload, she seems to have returned to almost baseline. Not sure if this is a "duh" concept. Although she is only about .5 inches higher than my XB9, the seat is so much wider that I have trouble getting good footing. Any thoughts out there? | ||

Hey Michelle,Jamie told me he sold a 1125R to a girl. Thats Awesome!!! I also live in Racine. My wife and I both ride Buell's. Wish I could help you with a suggestion but because its a 1125R you can't swap from a XB either. Good luck to ya though. | ||

As for the front, these are just my thoughts from looking at all the pics. The top clamp incorporates the bars, so lowering the forks thru the it, you will increase the wrist strain, as well may cause clearance issues with levers vs. fairings. A viable option is to use shortened fork spacers, which lower the forks internally, so the bar position will be the same as it is now. My understanding is also the rear is a linkless setup, whereas the shock is mounted top and bottom without any use of dogbones. Only thing coming to mind on this setup is to use the spring preload adjuster to shorten the rear. Now, I'm not sure what the spring rate is on the Buell stock, but you might also want to check that vs. your weight, and swap springs if you decide to lower the forks via spacer shortening. Having the suspension dialed in for your weight and riding style (street or track) will make a huge difference in handling and could very well make you not want to dismount the 1125R at the end of the ride! FWIW, I do suspension work on the USD forks similar to the R's, and can shorten the spacers while doing it. Last option, check into having your seat modified by Tobin. He does amazing work, and I can send pics of my Hayabusa's seating if you'd like. (not sure how to post pics, but might figure that out as well). Charlie | ||

Thence you are a girl what about wearing those boots with the real thick soles, on my ulysses I noticed that I was more comfortable with one set of boots than the other and was because of the sole thickness. Mike | ||
