Hi all,

I have some specialty parts that I need to sell. They are leftovers from my Buell Chopper project.
I'm thinking of putting them on eBay but don't know what to ask for.

I have a Dual carburetor setup for an S1/M1.
It was running on an M1 before I got it. I did some porting work on the intake. I comes with an S&S manifold, an aluminum dual carb adapter for the manifold, 2 small carbs that have Holley boosters on them, an aluminum mounting bracket with built in head breathers that feed out to a catch can, and 2 short brass velocity stacks which are quite attractive. There is also an additional Webber type air filter unit which I really didn't like. This is what they look like.

Carbs

I also have a complete set of Carbon/Kevlar skins from a 1999 X1 Special Edition.

If anyone can give me an idea what this stuff is worth I'd appreciate it.

Thanks
Peter

How much of a PITA is it to tune the dual carbs? And what is the benefit (besides looking sexy)?

Actually Dennis, Wes Orloff has a dual carbed S1 pro thunder bike. It was infact used years ago in Pro Thunder during the earlier Tuber days. Looks cool but I bet its not fun to tune either.

Well,
I must admit I bought it mainly because I wanted that dual carb look but I knew what a pain that was from my car hot rodding days. I knew I had to get small carbs for that kind of application. These carbs are designed for multi-carb ATV setups. They are very simple and have only the idle and 1 fuel passage each. They are setup as a main and secondary carb unit with staggered throttle so the second kicks in at mid range rpm. It's neat. I really wanted to use it but my engine builder insisted I get an S&S carb for tuning simplicity. He wants to stick to what he knows best.
