Do you know if it will just bolt up to any tuber swingarm block? If so,I'll take it. My zip is 07933. How do you want to get paid? Is Pay pal OK? Thanks,

Eric

eric,

you may have to clearance your steel swingarm's mounting block slightly to make sure you get full deflection. it's pretty easy, just mount it up without the shock and swing it through it's arc, and it will be clear what areas to grind. i bought the mounting block with mine to make it a bit easier, but many people have had great success at grinding the older block. good luck.

Thanks for posting the advice, Sleez.

This is what I was going to do to my steel arm block when I had plans to put it on the S2, but I never got that far and I have too many other irons in the fire at this point.

Eshardball: send me an e-mail at tmkern@dmci.net and let me know if modifying your mounting block is something you are up for and I will get you a shipping price.

Thanks

Tom

Sleeze, Thanks for the tech help. Tom ,PM sent to your e mail. Grinding, cutting, polishing, welding is all in a days time, well spent on the Buell. Sleeze do you know if I need to replace my rear caliper mount to use the new style swing arm?

Eshardball;

found it, looks like you don't have to change it, may have to re-route the brake line though. see here;

Not trying to threadjack this one, but what would be the advantages of having this swingarm over the older steel swingarms.

I have and 98 S3 with the older style.

I might be interested in this one if the reason is explained.

the main reason is the stiffness is increased, with a very little weight gain in most cases, as per Battle2Win, IIRC.

plus, most people think the aesthetics are more pleasing, especially when polished.

I want it for the asthetics of having a polished swingarm. The strength increase is a bonus. Just waiting on the total for part & shipping.
