Some of you are aware of this, but there was a terrible thing that occurred Friday night.

Erik Anderson, a Buell vendor, the bass player for The Thunderbolts and an accomplished recording engineer, was playing a gig in Madison, WI on Friday night. He was scheduled to board a 5:00am flight to New York City and rendezvous with Erik Buell, Ed Laben and Ed Schenk (guitar, guitar and drums).

I got an e-mail at 3:40AM Saturday that I thought was a practical joke . . .it wasn't.

As Erik was playing his wife's cell phone rang. It was the Sheriff calling to say their home was engulfed in flames.

The house is in a grove of trees and apparently the Firemen determined that the best way, as flames began to spread, was to bulldoze the entire house into the basement.

That's the basement with tons of professional recording gear, all the master of several bands, the ProTools and so forth.

The Anderson's had a collection of prized pet birds that were all lost in the tragedy.

Erik, Ed and Ed are now back in Wisconsin, the van is unloaded and they'll be seeing what they can do to help. The Andersons have the instruments that were in the van in NYC and what they had with them that night.

I'd ask that all of our Buell friends around the world keep Erik and Corina in your thoughts and prayers.

Very sorry to hear of such a terrible thing happening to such good folks. My family's thoughts and prayers are with Erik and Corina as they recover from this. Well wishes to them and hopefully they can restore normalcy to their lives again soon.

Please extend our thoughts and best wishes to them as well. If it were renovated, I'd have the Airstream hitched up and ready to tow to Wisconsin so they had a roof over their heads...but unfortunately the bedroom has no floor and the water system needs a complete going through.

Court, if there is anything we can do from Maryland, you have my number. Please feel free to give it out, or call me if you need anything.

Heck, what a tragedy. Deepest sympathy from the UK. I hope they have a good insurance policy even if a lot of the losses will be irreplaceable. As ever, there but for the grace of god go I. So tragic.

That is abolutely horrible, I doubt I can imagine a worse family tragedy (short of losing a loved one) than losing a home. Fortunately there were just things (valuable things, no doubt), but if everyone is okay, there is a bright side to the story. We'll keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers and hope that some good can be found from this.

Good luck, stay strong and be positive Anderson's! Everyone at BadWeB is pulling for you.

I'm praying for the family... It would be very hard to loose a life time of work.

Wow, that is a terrible thing to have happen to anyone. They have my best wishes and my prayers.

It reminds me of a call I got 15 years ago when I lost a close friend who was on a road trip. I thought that was a joke at
first too...sure you're a highway patrolman....right, quick screwing around Mikey....and then it starts to sink in....

I know that I'm a long distance away, and my resources are limited, but if there is ANYTHING that I can do for them please
let them know that I am more than willing to do it.

Please give our best to the Anderson's. I can't imagine what they're going through right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

WOW!...Our thoughts go out to Erik and his family...Equipment can be replaced , Glad the family is ok...Though the birds were family too I'm sure....so tragic...My Sister and Brother in law lost everything they had except 2 trucks,6 cats and a suitcase of family pictures 3years ago.Had to crash through trees on an old logging road to get out of fire. One cat stayed behind and lost ears but is still standing.Changed them forever. We will pray for you.

Court,
That is really a bummer. Only good thing is no one lost their lives.
Prayers on the way for the Andersons.
I only met him once at the Boiler Room, he was a very nice guy and really easy to talk to.
Still can't figure out why this happens to the good guys...

I'm sorry to hear this. I wish the family well. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I live about 2 hours from there.

When I was a kid, my grandma's house caught on fire. I was outside and we had seen the fire trucks. My friends and I raced after the trucks on our bikes only to find out it was my grandma's house. About 30% of the house burned down... I could not imagine losing the entire thing.

I wish Erik and his family the best and hopefully something can be salvaged.
