I've looking around at tuner software. I keep coming across the ECM Spy thing. I'm hoping all is well with the FI mapping after the rebuild is done (I can't imagine it won't be, but better to be safe than sorry). If it's not mapped right after the rebuild, will the ECM Spy work with an 88ci motor? Or is it more a street motor kinda thing?

Thanks in advance everyone.

ECM Spy works with the OEM ECM, no matter what particular engine it may be running. Better topic would be in the Knowledge Vault ... ECM subtopic. If you can't find it, holler.

Might need to get the higher pressure fuel regulator as some of the big motors run out of fuel on the stock one. In the fuel table you can add up to 255 bits of fuel and this is not enough sometimes. Can also"fool" the ecm by setting AFR above 100%---it adds on top of the 255 by a percentage. This has worked for us as well.

Blake, thanks, I'll poke around the knowledge vault. I was afraid there might be an IQ test to get in, so I've avoided it like the plague. : )

Jim, thanks for the tip. Fortunately, the fuel injection was set up for an 88ci motor already. I'm pretty sure we're not going to need it. But the way I see it, buying is the cheapest way to insure all will go according to plan. : )

I'll definitely pass on the information to the tuner. Thank you!!!

Seriously you SHOULD consider the high pressure regulator. I never could get my motor running right (1169cc) - kept bumping the LFuel (now Global Fuel) up and up to where I FINALLY got it running with some stability but with the big valves, 585 cams, it just never got happy with the standard regulator.

E B Racing shows it out of stock. Not sure if there's a functional automotive equivalent.

Sorry, I typed "injection" instead of "regulator." The regulator was changed by the prior owner.

Fortunately, I'm not starting from ground zero with the motor. We were putting rings in it, when we found one of the pistons had a cracked skirt. So, I just order a set of pistons for it.

I'm hoping that when we put it all together, it'll run pretty much the same as it did before the rebuild. I am also hoping that I will not need to ECM Spy. I absolutely love the bike!!!
